The last few years, M. J. Harris employees have spent an afternoon on the oncology unit at Children’s Hospital of Alabama decorating for the holidays. For one M. J. Harris employees, Lyle DuBois, this philanthropic event is personal. Lyle’s son Jacob was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in June of 2011. Jacob spent seven days in the oncology unit at Children’s Hospital of Alabama when he was first diagnosed. Though treatment is still ongoing, Jacob has been cancer free for almost 18 months and his long-term prognosis is very good. Lyle, wife Holly, Jacob and sister Julia, are pictured with M. J. Harris employees in front of the Christmas tree.
We are providing something more than just Christmas decorations; we are giving these children (and their families) temporary relief from the everyday rollercoaster that is pediatric cancer. It’s great to be part of a company that remains committed to events such as this.Lyle DuBois
