M. J. Harris and Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center (PBRMC) proudly announce a Topping Out Celebration scheduled for May 9, 2012 at 11 a.m.
In building construction, the topping out ceremony marks the point when the last beam is placed at the top of the building. The beam is ceremoniously painted white and signed.
At PBRMC, the ceremonial beam was located in the hospital’s cafeteria the past two weeks, and PBRMC associates had the opportunity to sign their name on this historic piece of new hospital.
The ceremony is scheduled at the actual site of the new hospital, and the hospital staff and the local business community will speak to honor the occasion. The ceremonial beam will be placed into the steel structure at the event to signify the completion of steel erection.
When complete, the new PBRMC will be a state-of-the-art 7 story facility with basement, offering 250 private patient rooms, enhanced technology and easier accessibility.
